Hemos vuelto al oscuro y siniestro mundo de los refinados Maralha, la Dinastía de la Sangre Negra. Porque es irresistible y sombrío el ¿encanto? de su mundo, y hay más historias que contar sobre ellos. La protagonista de esta nueva saga es Syridiana, bella y cruel, como no podía ser de otra manera, tratándose de las mujeres de este pueblo.

 

Back to the dark, sombre world of the refined Maralha, the Black Blood Dynasty. Because the charm (?) of their world is irresistible and sinister, and there are more stories to tell about them. Shankar en Londres tiene una cita con Dorian Gray. Hasta Wilde hace un cameo en la primera página de este post. Imágenes que remiten a la historia del atribulado Dorian, que no soportaba la idea de que el tiempo estragara su belleza; Basil Halward, el desprevenido pintor del retrato fatídico; Lord Henry Wotton, mentor del joven Gray, de elocuencia igualmente fatídica; la ingenua Sybil Vane, que sucumbe ante la crueldad de Gray, como antes había sucumbido su talento ante el amor... "El Retrato de Dorian Gray" sigue siendo una de las novelas más inquietantes que yo haya leído jamás, y el período que refiere uno de los más subyugantes en la historia del arte de occidente. Por eso abundan en estas imágenes las alusiones al simbolismo, a los decadentistas, al incipiente Art Noveau, a la iconografía de la Secesión de Viena, a Aubrey Beardsley..

That explains the references to Symbolism, Decadentism, burgeoning Art Noveau Aubrey Beardsley, and the imagery of the Vienna Secession..

Y como suele suceder en el Laberinto, obras, autores y personajes se dan cita en su mágico ámbito. Así podemos ver al Mastín de los Baskerville, al Hombre Invisible de Wells, al orangután asesino de la Rue Morgue que soñara Poe, al incomparable Long John Silver de Stevenson, y al Monstruo de Mary Shelley..
