Algunas páginas y viñetas sueltas de otro de los relatos de "De Dioses y Demonios", inédito en el Río de la Plata. Como detalle curioso y totalmente baladí, incluyo uno de los poquísimos bocetos que de alguna manera sobrevivió a su destino final en el cesto de los papeles. La página que sigue a esta parrafada muestra, en uno de sus cuadros, a una colección de fenómenos y monstruos en sus jaulas; la versión inicial del mismo, a lápiz, es la imagen que cierra este post, y que por alguna razón no me convenció.

Some pages and a random selection of panels from another of the "Gods and Demons" tales, unpublished in the River Plate. As a completely dispensable curiosity, I include one of a handful ( literally) of sketches which escaped its deserved doom in the waste-paper basket. The page which follows this disgression shows, in the second panel, a menagerie of caged monstrosities. The initial version of that panel closes this post; for some reason which eludes me now, it didn´t make it.

Para marcar el fin ( al menos por ahora) de la saga de esos robustos superhéroes, Dugong y Manatí, en Comic.Ar, va aquí un póster con nuestros denodados sirenios y sus amigos y enemigos, a saber: el Atún Beatnik, el Faro Loco, Johnny Hula-hula, Estercita "Todos- los- Estilos", Mr Torpedo, uno de los Buzos Gigantes, Beluga Joe, los Patanes Submarinos, Sargazo, Tobías, nuestros héroes, Marea Roja, Pepita Pleamar, Medio Mundo, el Marinerito, Mostro y uno de los felones de la Banda Tiki.

Now that the saga of Dugong and Manatee, those robust superheroes, has come to an end ( at least for the time being) in the pages of Comic.Ar, here comes a poster of our daredevil sirenia and their friends and enemies, namely: the Beatnik Tuna, the Mad Lighthouse, Johnny Hula-Hula, Mermaid Esther, Mr Torpedo, one of the Giant Divers, Beluga Joe, the Submarine Scoundrels, Sargassus, Tobias, our heroes, Red Tide, High Tide Pepita, the Net, the Little Sailor, Mostro and one of the Tiki Gang felons.

En el mismo sueño, acompañado por dos Bodhisattvas, aquellos seres iluminados y compasivos que, para ayudar a la humanidad, han postegado su partida al Nirvana, nuestro protagonista vuelve atrás en el Tiempo más de mil años, para conocer al Buda histórico, el príncipe Siddharta Gautama...

In a dream, Shankar journeys to the Western Paradise, the Pure Land of Buddha Amitabha, the Infinite Light of the cosmos. In the same dream, escorted by two Bodhisattvas, the enlightened and compassionate saints who have postponed the bliss of Nirvana in order to assist humanity, our hero goes back more than a thousand years in Time, to meet the historical Buddha, prince Siddartha Gautama...
